Pastor Paul Bowe was born to Keith and Esther Bowe on October 6, 1983, in Escondido, California. He is the middle of three children. His father Keith is a WELS teacher, and his mother Esther is currently a secretary for General Electric Healthcare. His older sister Chrysta Bowe is a hairstylist in a studio in the Milwaukee suburbs. His younger sister Angela Ertl is married to a man from Pastor Bowe's Seminary graduating class, Jordan Ertl. They recently took a call to Atonement Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
Pastor Bowe's father is a WELS teacher, and has taken several calls, so they moved around frequently. When Pastor Bowe was 2 years old, his family moved from California to Westminster, Colorado. They lived there until he was 8 years old, and then his father took another call to Wisconsin Lutheran High School, so the family moved to West Allis, Wisconsin. When he was in eighth grade, his father again took a call to teach at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School, so they moved to Menomonee Falls, and he attended KMLHS and graduated in 2002. His father has since taken another call back to Wisconsin Lutheran High School. His parents still reside in Menomonee Falls.
Coming out of high school, Pastor was undecided on which profession h wanted to undertake. He attended UW-Madison for his first year of college. It was a blessing in that he met many people different from himself. While there, he also learned how many people in the world have yet to know about Jesus’ love and salvation. God’s gracious hand guided him to desire to become a pastor, and he transferred to Martin Luther College in 2003. In his grace Pastor never looked back, graduating MLC in 2007 and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2011.
God has also blessed Pastor with wonderful ministry experiences while at the Seminary. He had the opportunity to be a summer vicar in 2008 for a mission congregation, Hope Lutheran Church, in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He also served as vicar from 2009-2010 at Holy Word Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas. Our gracious Lord gave him a very wide variety of experiences in both places and blessed him with a love for his holy ministry.
Pastor Bowe very excited about the opportunities God has laid before his saints here at Immanuel. God has assured us that nothing in the world can separate us from his love. Under his certain grace for eternity, he promises to bless us beyond anything we can imagine! Pastor Bowe's prayer is that all of us here at Immanuel continue to look to the cross of Christ for our hope and assurance. "As your pastor I pray for God’s strength to point you as his saints and those who don’t yet know of his grace to this very cross which washes away every last sin. Join me in this awesome task! To God alone be the glory!"
