Women's Monday Bible Study

 Leader: Lou Ann Mokwa

Meeting Day(s): Women's Bible Study
Meeting Time: Alternate Mondays -- 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm

Ladies’ Bible study will begin our fall session on September 11, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. and September 18 at 4:30 p.m. in the 5-6th grade Sunday School Room.  Each session will last approximately 1 hour.

This fall we have chosen the book Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers for our Bible study.  What is this book about? It is five stories of unlikely women who changed eternity.

The Bible is filled with inspiring stories of unlikely candidates that God chose to change eternity. This bestselling compilation contains five novellas about such people—women in the family tree of Jesus Christ. Each faced extraordinary—even scandalous—challenges. But they had courage. They lived daring lives. Sometimes they made mistakes—big mistakes. And yet God, in His infinite mercy, used them to bring forth the Christ, the Savior of the world. The stories of these five remarkable women still hold great meaning and inspiration for us today.

Unveiled: Tamar Betrayed by the men who controlled her future, Tamar fought for her right to believe in a loving God and to do right in His eyes.

Unashamed: Rahab A woman with a past to whom God gave a future. No matter how dark the harlot’s sin, God could still do wonderful things in her life.
Unshaken: Ruth A love story of epic proportions, Ruth gave up everything, expected nothing, and God honored her.

Unspoken: Bathsheba The scandalous affair of David and Bathsheba did not end in one night. Bathsheba’s story is about her journey from innocence to despair – and of the God who restored her. To many, her name means seduction and sin, yet God called Bathsheba his own and worthy of the legacy of his son.

Unafraid: Mary All eternity had been waiting for the moment and Mary responded in simple obedience to God’s call. Sometimes the most illogical person is the one most important to His plan.  Faced with extraordinary challenges, Mary took great personal risk to fulfill her calling — watching her son, who she knew to be the Christ, grow up and be rejected by a world that was supposedly waiting for his arrival. She was destined to play the most important role of all in the lineage of Jesus Christ.
