Who We Are

We are Christians.  That is, we are followers of Jesus Christ.  We are Lutherans.  That is, people who believe that we are saved by God's undeserved love alone, through faith in Jesus alone, and this message of salvation is only found in the Bible.

We are people that come from all walks of life and all classes.  We are people who are united by a common faith in Jesus Christ.  This common faith in Jesus gives us great comfort.  We are certain that because of Jesus' perfect life, innocent death, and glorious resurrection our sins are forgiven and we will live forever!

We know that Jesus is with us, that He cares for us, and He is here to help us.  We would like you to have the same comfort and certainty.  We would like you to meet the Lord Jesus and learn what He has done for you and all people!

Immanuel Lutheran Church

Immanuel is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).  We are men, women and children united in faith and worship by the Word of God, its beliefs, programs of Christian education, and opportunities for fellowship. We invite you to gather with us around God's Word here at Immanuel.

Our Mission

Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church exists to glorify the Triune God by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to our families, our community, and the world.

Our History

The Immanuel congregation is the result of a merger of the German Lutheran Church(Peace) and the Swedish Lutheran Church(Salem), which occurred in 1930.  Since that time the Immanuel congregation has faithfully served the Lord and reached out to the city of Waupaca and surrounding areas.  Let us share God's Word with you and your family and friends.
