April 6, 2020:

"Important Update for the Members and Friends of Immanuel Lutheran Church:

Since the “safer at home” mandate has been extended through the month of April, all public worship services and activities have been cancelled through April 2020; pending any easing of the restrictions. Your pastors will continue to bring you the comforting, encouraging, faith preserving Word of God via the Sunday radio broadcast and the recorded services on the website*; immanuelwaupaca.com.

[*Click on the box, top / right "Sermons Audio / Visual Downloads" and it will take you to the screen with all of the sermons.  The most recent is at the top.  Click on that.  You may have to adjust your volume on your computer and/or on the video. The top one is the most recent.]

Note: Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services will be recorded early and be up on the website that evening for your viewing. The Easter Sunday service will also be available to watch that morning. Worship folders are on the website**. If you don’t have internet, stop at the church office and pick up a worship folder and a hymnal too. Office hours during Holy Week will be 8:00 - 1:00 Mon. –Thurs. and 9:00 - Noon on Friday.

[**You will find the worship folders/bulletins on Immanuel's website below the 'scrolling pictures' at the top; find a box labeled: "Bulletins and Newsletters", click this box; next from the drop-down box click the 'category' box "Bulletins";  select the date of the bulletin/ worship folder that you wish to view.]

Another difficult part of this separation is that we’re unable to receive the Lord’s Supper with our fellow members. Right now, there are no plans to conduct any kind of public communion service; outdoors, in cars, or otherwise. If you would like the Lord’s Supper privately at home or at church, your pastors would be happy to serve you; just give us a call. It’s important to remember that your sins are still fully forgiven even though you have not been able to commune. The blood of Jesus Christ has purified us from all sins. Take a moment and read his wonderful assurance to you in 1 John 1:9.

It’s been great to see members dropping off or mailing in their offering envelopes during this time. Keep up the good works! Returning a portion of our blessings to the Lord who gave them is so important and a joyful privilege as well.

If you have been laid off of work or have lost your job, there are emergency assistance funds available for Immanuel members. Don’t hesitate to call.

In John 16 Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” We take heart in Jesus because we know that nothing in this world can separate us from his love, care, and protection. This week as we ponder the depths of his love that drove him to die for us, remember that the worst separation in history occurred when Jesus was forsaken on the cross by his Father. Thankfully, that separation was temporary and it brought about our atonement. That means we are one with God; never to be separated.

Blessings on your Holy Week worship from home.

Hosanna in the Highest,  Pastor Siemers"

March 18, 2020
"Members of Immanuel Lutheran Church:
Following the Governor’s mandate prohibiting gatherings of no more than ten people, the Immanuel Church Council has decided to cancel all worship services and church activities through April 5, 2020; pending any lifting of the restrictions. The Sunday radio broadcast at 8 am on WDUX 92.7 will continue as usual. This service and the three remaining Wednesday Lent services will also be recorded by the pastors and put on the church website immanuelwaupaca.com  .

The worship folders/bulletins will be on the website so you can follow along with the service. If you don’t have access to the website, you can stop at the church office and pick up a bulletin and a hymnal too. The church office will keep regular hours during this time; 8:00 - 1:00 Monday –Thursday; and 9:00 - Noon on Friday.

During this time of not gathering with our church family for worship, we encourage you to gather with your family around the radio service for worship or watch one of the recorded services on the website. “God is our refuge and strength an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46) Let us continue to seek refuge and strength in His powerful word during this difficult time.

If you are in need of pastoral care but are not comfortable with a one-on-one visit, don’t hesitate to call your pastors for some spiritual support; Pastor Siemers 507-382-7781 or Pastor Kempfert 715-281-0164.

It’s important to remember that our church’s financial responsibilities do not stop just because worship services have been temporarily suspended. We need to keep participating in the privilege of bringing our thank offerings for the Lord’s kingdom work. “God loves a cheerful giver.” We encourage you to mail in your offerings or drop them off at the church office during the week.

If you are laid off of work because of this situation, there are emergency assistance funds available for Immanuel members should you need them.

For updates on the situation, keep checking this website or call the office.

Our Lord has promised he will never leave us or forsake us; in good times or bad. This gives us encouragement for the present and hope for the future. Let’s encourage each other to remain fearless and joyful no matter the circumstances."

-Pastor Siemers and Pastor Kempfert
